Please Pray For My Mom

I found out this morning that my mom is in the hospital and I am over 10 hours away. So frustrating and really upsetting. She has to stay in the hospital at least overnight. If you pray, please say a prayer for my mom. Thanks.

She has been having flu-like symptoms for almost 2 weeks now. She has also been choking when trying to swallow any type of non-soft food. She went to the ER this morning and has been admitted. She had a scope type test done on her throat. She also smokes so I am worried about that. This is so scary. And so difficult to be so far away!

I wish I was there! (My mom lives in northwest Ohio and I live by Raleigh, NC.)

12 Years...

My dad passed away 12 years ago today. I love and miss my dad very much and today is always a crappy day, obviously. I think what bothers me the most now, that I have my own kids, is the fact that he never got to meet them. :-( Patrick is named after him, though!

To make today even worse is the fact that I found out that I have pinkeye and an upper respiratory infection. I feel super crappy.

Also, my FIL is in the hospital dealing with some heart issues. :-(

Update on the Kiddos!

The kids both had their well baby (kid) check-ups today. Elise had her three year old one and Patrick had his 9 month old one.

Elise-
Elise now weighs 28 pounds and is 37 inches tall. She has 20/20 vision and passed her hearing test. Elise got prescribed some MiraLAX for her constipation and was told NO MORE CHEESE! Ha ha. I hope that does the trick! Elise is now in big girl’s underwear all day now. The only time she wears pull-ups is during naps and when she goes to bed at night. Elise had a very fun time at her birthday party on Saturday and got lots of neat gifts. She loves to sing and is painting with water colors for the first time tonight!

Patrick-
Patrick weighs 21 pounds and is 31 ½ inches tall! He was in the 50^th percentile for weight and way off the charts for his height. He is going to be a big, tall boy for sure! While we were at the doctor today she told us that Patrick has mild eczema, and also has a hernia under his belly button. She says that it should go away, “fix itself,” by the time he is three. If it has not gone away by then he will need surgery to correct it. If you remember Patrick had his belly button stump attached until he was three months old, and this is more than likely why. Patrick cannot crawl yet, but he can get where ever he wants to go by rolling there! Ha ha! He is trying to pull up on to things and can stand for a while if you are holding him up. Patrick can say, Da da, Ma ma, Di di, and even says oh and uh-oh once in a while. He is a really good eater, too. He really loves playing with his big sister… until she hugs him way too tight! He gets his revenge by pulling her hair though.
